Description: Home built in 1888 by J. O. Davidson. The address for the residence at that time was simply “Riverside,” a fashionable suburb laid out by Davidson himself. By 1912 the name of the street had become River Boulevard. The structure is often remembered as “Kirby Castle” (1201 West River Boulevard) after the family who bought it in 1932.
