Description: Portrait of city leader, Ben McLean (1859-1930). McLean was well-known as a banker in Wichita and was active in city government, serving three terms as Mayor (1901-1904 and 1923-1924). In 1934, a memorial fountain was constructed on McLean Boulevard near the Douglas Avenue bridge. His 24-room home at 313 North Seneca had been a local showcase in its time. The house was razed in 1969.
